Andy Smith, Battleship Texas Manager, presented a very informative program about the history of the ship. It played an important role in the Normandy invasion. It was the first museum ship and played a significant role in project Magic Carpet which brought our troops home after the war. It's history dates back to 1914 when it was commissioned.
