Carol Brady , Executive Director, will share the vision and mission of Family Promise of Lake Houston’s programs to those in the community who don’t know what we do, and who we serve.

Family Promise of Lake Houston is a local self-sufficiency program that works with homeless children and their families to help them get back on their feet. We provide one-on-one counseling, life skills classes, a Budget Coach, Employment Coach, Fast Track GED Certification, higher education and training programs, a two year After Care Program, overnight accommodations and home cooked meals. Families work diligently to get off the system and into independence. Families save 80% of their income while they are in the Network, and strive to find an educational or training program that allows them to maximize their income potential to build a better future for their children.

Carole Brady Biography: I began with Family Promise or as it was known back then as Interfaith Hospitality Network in 1998 in Loveland Colorado when a community wide effort to provide services for homeless families began where I lived. Serving as a committee chair for the group I wound up as their first Executive Director. Coming from the corporate world I approached the position with a view that education and training would be the key to stopping family homelessness – a view that I continue to hold to this day. In my spare time, I became a trainer for National FP in 1999 helping new Networks open around the country. I was asked  to come out to Philadelphia and work with older Networks – in 2009 I was lucky enough to come to Humble to conduct a Strategic Planning session with the board of trustees from Family Promise of Lake Houston.  I fell in love with the area and the people, moved here in 2009 and helped to open our Network
