The Rotary Club of Humble presented a community gift of $5000 to Oaks of Righteouness to assist with general operations and staffing for their outreach to assist female  ex-offenders  to become productive members of of society..

Oaks of Righteousness is a non-profit, faith-based, residential facility that offers support for female ex-offenders who desire to make positive life changes and become productive members of society

The Oaks of Righteousness was established in 2012 to help break the cycle of addiction and homelessness that leads to re-incarceration and to offer women hope for a better future, and the opportunity to become the women that God intends them to be. A typical resident has just been released from prison. She may be homeless, and has few or no resources with which to regain a stable and productive life. Moving into a safe faith-based house can direct her onto a healthy path. They need 6 months to one year in a secure environment to learn the skills to reintegrate into society, to strengthen their resilience, and to become the women that God wants them to be.

Statistics reveal that 8 out of 10 ex-offenders in Texas will return to prison; however, with Christ-centered discipleship and mentoring, recidivism is reduced to a 1 in 10 chance of re-offending.

In order to ensure success the Oaks of Righteousness provides:
  • Safe communal environment promoting respect and value for every individual
  • Spiritual nourishment
  • Personal counseling to set and attain realistic goals
  • Educational opportunities
  • Recovery programs to sustain emotional stability and sobriety
  • Employment readiness and guidance with budgeting and money management
  • Health care and wellness resources
  • Enrichment activities and volunteer opportunities in the community

The community can assist this ministry in numerous ways. Visit www.oaksoftexas.org/ to learn more about the ministry and see the numerous needs and opportunities. Volunteers are always needed for transportation which includes parole visits, job readiness program and job searches, Celebrate Recovery meetings, and special outings.
